Axminster Carpets showcased several developments at this year’s Flooring Show, with refreshed collections, new product launches and expanded access to its designer collaborations.
The headline announcement was the wider availability of House of Hackney carpets, rugs and runners through Axminster’s independent retail partners. Previously purchased directly through the design house, the collection is now available to retailers with an Axminster Carpets account.
The collaboration, which began in 2020, combines House of Hackney’s distinctive designs with Axminster’s British manufacturing expertise. Made from 100% wool to the company’s highest specification, the carpets feature a deep pile and premium finish, retailing at around £220 per square metre. The collection has generated considerable interest among retailers targeting the high-end residential market.
Elsewhere, Simply Natural, one of Axminster’s best-selling ranges, is gaining three new colourways. Following research at the Buying Group show, the additions introduce more green tones in place of some greys, with samples due to reach retailers in the fourth quarter.
The company also introduced Weaver’s Touch, a new 100% wool tufted loop-pile range replacing Cobble Weave. With three designs and nine colour options, it offers further choice for customers seeking natural fibres and textured finishes.
Axminster has also made its established Havana collection available to independent retailers through its woven-to-order offering. Previously exclusive to John Lewis, the range has continued to attract demand. Meanwhile, the company has responded to ongoing interest in traditional designs by refreshing other heritage styles with updated colourways.
Alongside its ongoing collaboration with Sanderson and Morris & Co, these developments demonstrate Axminster’s commitment to combining British manufacturing with evolving consumer tastes and new opportunities for independent retailers.
