UKSFA CEO, Cathie Clarke, and Project Manager, Adnan Zeb-Khan, were kept busy throughout this year’s Flooring Show in Harrogate, meeting members, catching up with industry contacts and welcoming visitors to the UKSFA stand.
The stand attracted a steady stream of new faces and flooring businesses keen to find out more about UKSFA’s aims and ambitions for the industry. In-person meetings with members were also an important part of attending the show, particularly at a time when so much business is conducted online. A key focus this year was the TakeMyFlooring Portal, which has been developed in the last 12 months, and now includes a growing range of reuse and recycling options. Listings are also available free of charge to non-UKSFA members.
There were also lively discussions around flooring product identification to support end-of-life reuse and recycling, alongside UKSFA’s ongoing work to establish an industry back-stamping protocol.
UKSFA CEO, Cathie Clarke, said: “A year since the last Flooring Show and the world is in a very different place; but one which strengthens the need for cooperation and collaboration to improve sustainability and find viable solutions for the flooring industry.”
