At this year’s FFD, Dutch underlay systems manufacturer Unifloor presented its newest product: Easylevel 7mm. Based on the company’s existing Jumpax system, Easylevel is specifically designed to be used underneath click flooring products, solving some common installation challenges. Unifloor Export Manager Marcel Mol explains: “We see many installers fitting click over existing floors, and if the floor isn’t 100% level, the tiles can become disconnected.”
Like Jumpax, Easylevel 7mm features two self-adhesive components which can be easily fitted as a free-floating sub-floor, smoothing over typical irregularities and eliminating the need for screeds, primers, ply boards and nails. The new product also features a slightly thinner, fibreboard construction, which enables it to follow the base flooring more closely, making click installations easier and longer lasting. Additionally, Easylevel 7mm offers an impact sound reduction of up to 21dB when used with a concrete subfloor.
Marcel says the company’s UK customers appreciate the “new way of thinking” this product exemplifies, as click and loose-lay flooring options are increasingly popular in this market. Easylevel 7mm can also be used for the installation of cushion vinyl or carpet tiles, however unlike Jumpax it cannot be used in conjunction with flooring adhesives.
This year’s FFD was Unifloor’s third time exhibiting, and according to Marcel, the event continues to be a valuable proposition for the company. “Although the quantity of visitors isn’t as high as some shows, the quality is much higher than any other exhibition. We see people from all over Europe and many are representing big names from carpet or LVT, so they know the world and they know what they’re looking for.”
