Karndean Designflooring, the luxury vinyl tile specialist, has announced an expansion of its Van Gogh collection, giving homeowners a better choice than ever before. Three new designs – Indy Urban Elm, Apres Oak and two new colourways of Natural Prime Oak – bring a fresh chapter of nature-inspired character to the range. Herringbone formats continue to be one of the most popular in the Karndean repertoire and are now available across all the Van Gogh designs. What’s more, there is an entirely new format: Pavilion Panels – Karndean’s most ambitious parquet-style innovation to date, which is available exclusively in the Apres Oak colourways.
Every new design in this edit begins not with a trend board but a real landscape: one that shaped the timber and left its character in the wood. That commitment to origin is what makes the new Van Gogh designs not just a floor, but a story beneath your feet.
Indy Urban Elm: born in the Midwest
Indy Urban Elm takes its inspiration from the urban forests of Indianapolis, a city where elm trees line the streets and the forest trails stretch out beyond. Karndean’s designers drew on the spirit of the Detroit and Indiana timber trade to create a floor with genuine rural roots and the result is a design that feels entirely rustic and natural. Urban elm has a distinctive, varied grain, and natural imperfections – including knots and twists – are celebrated rather than concealed. Indy Urban Elm is available in plank (48” x 7”) and herringbone formats (18” x 4.5”).
Après Oak: forged by the Alps
Where Indy Urban Elm is grounded in the forest, Apres Oak speaks of altitude. It was inspired by character-grade Bavarian oak from southern Germany and reflects the drama of alpine conditions: the seasonal extremes and the slow growth that shapes timber at elevation. Available in three colour tones (Honey Apres Oak, Cocoa Apres Oak and Sable Apres Oak), the range spans honeyed gold and caramel through to rich tobacco. The Apres Oak designs also boast a brand-new embossed finish, which feels as authentic as it looks. The resulting prominent oak grain changes as it catches the light, giving each plank depth and variation. Apres Oak is available in plank (48” x 7”), herringbone (18” x 4.5”) and the brand-new Pavilion Panel (24” x 24”) format.
Natural Prime Oak: two new colourways
Already one of the most popular designs in the Van Gogh range, Natural Prime Oak gains two new colourways for 2026: a lighter toned Linen Prime Oak (see featured image, top) and rich Truffle Prime Oak. Both are available in plank and herringbone formats and have been developed in direct response to customer demand and retail sales data showing continued growth in warm, natural wood tones.
New Van Gogh Pavilion Panels: parquet, reinvented
The most significant innovation in this launch is the arrival of the Pavilion Panels format, Karndean’s answer to the growing appetite for parquet-style flooring without the complexity of traditional installation. Each 24” x 24” panel can be laid in either a diamond or diagonal cross configuration, meaning two completely different looks are achievable from a single format – no specialist cutting or complex layout required.
The diamond configuration brings a sense of grandeur to homes. The kind of floor that anchors a high-ceilinged hallway or stretches across an open-plan kitchen-diner,creating a natural focal point without overwhelming the space. While the diagonal cross reads as more graphic and contemporary, lending geometric structure to rooms that want rhythm over drama. Both configurations work equally well in period homes and modern interiors. Panels are available in all three Apres Oak colourways and can be framed with matching Van Gogh planks or small planks for a fully finished, considered result.
Van Gogh Pavilion Panels are built to the same exacting standard as the wider Van Gogh collection, featuring a 3.0mm gluedown construction, micro bevel detailing and a 0.55mm wear layer.
Importantly, they are available at the same price point as the full planks in the range, offering added design flexibility without any additional cost.
