For a buying group as large and well-established as ACG, The Flooring Show offers a welcome opportunity each year to engage with both suppliers and members, and this year was no exception. With the industry’s largest rebrand, SmartChoice, taking centre stage on the group’s stand, the event also provided an ideal platform to speak with potential new members about the benefits of joining.

“The brand is very important for us,” explains Group Development Manager Jon Richardson. “It’s important to our members too, because it protects them from price comparison, whether that’s from the internet, the high street, or a man in the van.”

Reflecting its importance to the group and its members, the SmartChoice range has been updated with resources to help both retailers and their customers. For example, there is a consumer-facing SmartChoice website which backs up all the unitary, and QR codes are now featured on all samples, taking consumers to a visualiser with room imagery. These additional tools make the rebrand an even more attractive component of membership to ACG, and the group’s successful outing at this year’s show was evidence of SmartChoice’s enduring popularity.

At the show, the social and networking aspect is a key contributor to the group’s ongoing success. Connecting with like-minded retailers and key group suppliers is one of the standout features that makes this event so valuable.
