Metro Group offers far more than purchasing support

For almost 50 years, the Metro Group has adapted to meet the demands of a constantly evolving marketplace. As a flooring buying group, its primary goal is to secure competitive pricing and favourable terms from more than 25 trusted suppliers, enabling members to offer high-quality products while maintaining strong margins.

Metro has grown into a diverse network of independent retailers, from single-site businesses to multi-location companies. Maintaining independence is central to its approach, allowing members to choose their level of involvement while retaining full control of their operations. Additional benefits include exclusive rebates and access to an optional BUPA health scheme.

The central ordering service provides a practical solution for members without direct supplier accounts. By ordering through Metro, they can easily access a wider product range, often with just a single call. In many cases, this has also led to members establishing new supplier relationships.
Members can also take advantage of the optional CarpetFirst own-label brand. With increasing online competition, strong in-store branding is more important than ever. Since the mid-1990s, CarpetFirst has helped retailers enhance their presence through dedicated displays, sampling and point-of-sale materials.

Metro’s tailored marketing and merchandising service offers customised support to suit individual business needs. Members receive an annual contribution of £600 plus VAT towards marketing projects, with expert guidance from design through to installation.

Metro continues to offer far more than purchasing support and is currently seeking new members across the UK.
