Abingdon Flooring – Multi-channel magic

Having launched its Simply Smooths LVT and laminate range last year to a rave reception, Abingdon Flooring doubled down on its multi-channel approach for the 2025 Flooring Show, with brand-new ranges across both its smooth and carpet offering.

Indeed, if anyone doubted the brand’s commitment to carpet after last year’s launch, this year’s lineup of new products demonstrates Abingdon is still a leader in the field, with several new carpet ranges tapping into modern trends. The first of these was Knightsbridge Berber. “We’ve been asked by customers for a heathered version of Pure Elegance, which is one of our popular ranges,” explains Charlotte Coop, Head of Marketing.

Abingdon achieved this unique berber effect by combining two of their iconic ranges. Pure Elegance/Captivation yarn and their best selling tri-coloured yarn. The four ply polypropylene twist is the heaviest in their portfolio offering both style and performance, suitable for both residential and commercial installations. It’s offered in 16 different on-trend shades, with each made deeper and more nuanced by the heathered effect.

Built on the company’s renowned Stainfree yarn technology, Knightsbridge Berber brings something entirely unique for the market – once again proving that when it comes to performance carpets, Abingdon is big on innovation.

Additionally, Abingdon premiered several additions to its ever-popular Love Story range, a collection of polyester carpets that offer an ultra-soft experience underfoot while offering top of the line durability. This year’s new entries included Velvet Dreams and Seduction, with the luxurious Seduction becoming the heaviest in the entire Love Story brand. These updated ranges and colour options are designed to keep the Love Story brand feeling fresh, while staying true to its comfort-first roots.

For this year, the Simply Smooths brand occupied its own separate stand, with a new engineered wood collection, Simply Nature, added to its portfolio.

“We’ve seen huge demand from our retail partners for more Simply Smooth products,” says Charlotte. “This new collection builds on that momentum, offering the same great value and design appeal. With LVT, laminate, cushion vinyl, and now a new addition, Simply Smooth has become a complete, powerful smooth flooring family that suits every home – and every customer preference.”

A proud UK firm with manufacturing in Newport, Abingdon Flooring used this year’s Harrogate as an opportunity to demonstrate its capabilities not just in its traditional areas of expertise, but across the entire flooring category. This big tent approach was an effective one, with the manufacturer’s stand remaining packed throughout the show. Charlotte concludes: “As a company we aim to push boundaries, whether that’s in our carpets or our exhibition stand – we do things a little bit differently. Our strapline is ‘Feel at Home,’ so whether that’s people coming onto the stand or people dealing with the company, it’s all about making people feel at home with Abingdon.”
