Traditionally, installations over underfloor heating can cause no end of headaches for fitters, however Unifloor’s Heat-Pak Plus system simplifies and speeds up the process by doing away with any liquid component. The dual board system comprises a 10mm gypsum board with a 4mm MDF top plate, both of which feature a reactive adhesive that bonds the plates together and forms a solid system for fitters to install over.
While handily accomplishing the basic task of creating a smooth and level subfloor, Heat-Pak Plus also solves a number of issues specifically related to underfloor heating, Unifloor’s Neil Andrew explains. Typically, underfloor heating installations require 10mm of screed to protect the floorcovering from potential damage such as blanching and discolouration, however with Heat-Pak the gypsum board eliminates that risk entirely. What’s more, the heat transfer through the board creates a far more even distribution and efficient delivery of heat.
