‘The new show for the flooring industry’

THIS year InstallerSHOW has expanded its ‘surface area’ flooring and tiling zone to ‘deliver an unparalleled experience for the flooring sector’.

Here Mike Costain, managing director of show organiser Lyrical Communications, talks about the expansion and shares what’s in store for flooring contractors who visit InstallerSHOW 2025.
Why has InstallerSHOW decided to expand its offering to flooring contractors this year?

The floor and wall covering industry in the UK is forecasted to reach £4.1bn in revenue for the period 2024-2025, with the number of flooring contractors hitting 8,719 in January; but despite this, there aren’t any trade shows that cater to the flooring trade. With the traditional heating and flooring sectors now so closely intertwined, it made sense to bring these different trades together at InstallerSHOW to promote collaboration and provide visitors with a fuller picture of the products on offer.

We’ve also seen demand for flooring and tiling products at the show increase as the number of multiskilled trades, specifiers and building managers attending has grown. As such, the flooring offer at InstallerSHOW 2025 is designed to cater to anyone involved in specifying or installing professional, high-quality floors in a residential or commercial setting.

How are you getting the industry on board?
The expansion of our ‘surface area’ has been achieved thanks to close collaboration with the industry’s leading trade bodies. We’re working with the Contract Flooring Association (CFA), the National Institute of Carpet and Floorlayers (NICF), the Flooring Industry Training Association (FITA), and The Tile Association (TTA) to maximise the benefits of the show for visitors.
This has helped us bring together manufacturers, distributors, retailers and installers for three days of collaboration, learning, business and networking.

What can flooring contractors expect from InstallerSHOW 2025?
We’ve got a packed schedule of events lined up and loads of great brands and exhibitors attend-ing to show off their products. We’re lucky enough to be hosting the semi-finals of the NICF ‘Fitter of the Year’ competition, which this year is focusing on LVT installation with practical trials running across all three days of the show.

The CFA will also be presenting its ‘Flooring Apprentice of the Year’ award to one deserving winner, which we are really excited for. In the ‘surface area’ demo zone, FITA will be giving live flooring demonstrations for people to watch and learn from, alongside tiling demos from The Tile Association. BEAMA (British Electrotechnical and Allied Manufacturers’ Association) will also be on hand to deliver underfloor heating expertise and advice.

Plus, we have loads of the industry’s biggest names exhibiting, such as Tarkett, Maincor, Core-tec, Mapei, Genesis, Topps Tiles, Parkside Architectural and Schluter Systems, to name just a few.
Beyond the surface area, visitors can enjoy the rest of the show where the biggest tool manufacturers and workwear brands have stands and are offering exclusive deals.

Why should flooring contractors attend?
The surface area flooring and tiling zone is a great way to discover new products and techniques that could potentially revolutionise your way of working. It’s a valuable opportunity to upskill and educate yourself on hot topics like the Building Safety Act, or pick up some new workwear, tools or even a van.

Plus, all visitors will have the chance to win big in our £10K giveaway, in partnership with Specify & Build. All you need to do is register for the show, pick up your show passport on the way in, visit the stands listed and you’re in with a chance of winning.
