The devil is in the details. A floor can fit a room perfectly, but if its edges are untidy or it doesn’t transition to the next room smoothly, the whole installation will feel incomplete. By the same token, good flooring can be made to look even better with the proper application of products such as trims, profiles and tramlines. In as competitive a market as the current UK flooring sector, the ability to offer customers everything they need for a complete look is invaluable for retailers.
Whether they are buying carpet, LVT or laminate, customers increasingly want their flooring and furnishings to match for a consistent and attractive interior. Manufacturers are responding to this preference with expanded ranges of finishing products that can match to any given installation. Quick-Step, for example, introduced its Incizo range, designed to perfectly match any of its wood-effect laminate ranges and create a seamless transition between rooms. Karndean Designflooring offers a selection of what it calls Design Strips, thin pieces of LVT which can be used to create a variety of effects like grout or borders.
As customers with higher disposable income are often less price-sensitive when it comes to accessories, these products represent excellent opportunities for upselling. Luckily, manufacturers are proving more than happy to help retailers take advantage of those opportunities with new premium products in the category.

For example, Stairrods UK is delighted to introduce a new addition to its popular Ali Trim range. Following the success of our contemporary aluminium door thresholds — originally designed for use with gripper to allow power stretching for a tight, clean finish — the range has now been expanded to include a pinned option.
This new addition offers greater flexibility across a wider range of installation requirements while maintaining the same sleek, modern aesthetic.
Ali Trims work seamlessly with Stairrods’ Ali Inlay metal design strips, developed specifically for use with 2.5mm and 3mm gluedown LVT flooring.

Together, they provide a stylish and practical solution for stair treads, landings, and floor designs. Manufactured from high-quality aluminium, both ranges are durable, maintenance-free, and available in a selection of premium finishes.
In today’s design landscape, both homeowners and interior professionals are seeking harmony in every detail. The growing trend of matching flooring accessories with door handles and light switches is transforming the way we approach room aesthetics. Responding to this evolution, Kensington Trims has curated a collection of the most sought-after door-bar profiles, designed to deliver the perfect finish for both new builds and renovation projects.

Available in six premium finishes—Brushed Gold for a touch of antique elegance, Brushed Black reflecting the latest trend in taps and hardware, the ever-popular Brushed Silver, stylish Polished Silver, contemporary Matt Silver, and Iron Grey for those who favour tonal harmony—each door bar is individually wrapped to ensure quality assurance.
To further enhance the showroom experience, Kensington Trims’ new retail display units and sample portfolio display boards make it effortless for customers to view and compare finishes. This not only simplifies the selection process but also presents a fantastic upselling opportunity for your business.
Kensington Trims draws on over 50 years of expertise as a division of Sweeney Todd Blades, supplying the flooring trade.

Mapei Profilpas has extended its Mapei Color range with the introduction of nine new shades. Designed for perfect surface colour matching, Mapei Color now includes 25 Profilpas Cerfix Proangle L-profiles, which are colour-matched to Mapei Ultracolor Plus grouts and Mapesil AC Zero silicone sealants. The three elements can be used to create a seamless tone-on-tone or contrasting surface finish in wall and floor tile installations.
Mapei Profilpas Color’s Cerfix Proangle profiles faithfully reproduce the colour and texture of Ultracolor Plus cementitious grout – sharing the same product names and codes for easy specification – and Mapesil AC Zero pure acetic silicone sealants, as well as other types of Mapei sealant, including matt colours. The nine new colours include a variety of mid to dark tones, spanning greys to on-trend earth tones.
Ideal for protecting tile corners and preventing the need to carry out 45° corner cuts, Cerfix Proangle profiles can be used to close external corners of ceramic wall coverings, to join same-level floor coverings and to finish and protect the edges of steps, platforms and worktops. The profiles measure 8, 10, 11 and 12.5 mm in height and 2.7m in length. Special pieces are also available for outside and inside corners and end caps.

Mapei Ultracolor Plus grout is a fast setting and drying flexible polymer modified formulation that offers abrasion resistance, high colour stability and very low water absorption, along with easy application. It features anti-efflorescence, water-repellent DropEffect and mould-resistant BioBlock technology. Complementary Mapesil AC Zero is a highly flexible, mould-resistant sealant that also benefits from BioBlock technology and is suitable for movements up to 25%. Both the grout and sealant are part of Mapei’s Zero Line – with CO2 fully offset in the entire life cycle – and each benefits from a very low VOC EMICODE: EC1 Plus certified formulation for a safe application.
