With a history dating back to 1755 and a royal warrant for the King, Axminster Carpets focused on refining – rather than reinventing – its high-quality British wool carpets for this year’s Flooring Show, with recolours and new patterns for several key ranges.
One such recolour is the addition of five new colourways to one of the brand’s longstanding best-sellers, Devonia. The company is also adding both recolours and new designs to some of its key woven-to-order ranges. Myth & Moor, Axminster’s tartans and plaids collection, has had three designs added, while Modern Classics has seen three new designs and colourways, including a houndstooth pattern. “Modern Classics has only been around for a couple of years but it’s really starting to take off,” Amanda Grabham says. “It tends to be used for staircases and bedrooms.”
Outside of the carpet ranges themselves, the company has made updates to its bespoke point of sale products. The range now includes sample books, tombolas and a double-sided lectern the company launched a few years ago, which are now in around 250 retailers. “But what we’ve found,” Amanda says, “is that not everyone has room for a double-sided lectern, so at the show we’ve launched a ladder rack, which is a bespoke new point of sale unit, and it just provides another means of doing the same display in a smaller footprint.”
Axminster prides itself on its British heritage, its sustainable manufacturing process and its design excellence – these new introductions are a perfect representation of all three.
