Anglo Flooring – Everything for independents

Launched just over two years ago, Bradford-based Anglo Flooring has already grown to compete with some of the biggest wholesalers out there, Managing Director Haydar Ali Khan tells The Stocklists. Occupying Hall M for this year’s Flooring Show, Anglo Flooring stocks “a bit of everything,” from laminate and LVT to wall-to-wall carpet.

Supplying a wide range of products and tapping into trends quickly has been key to Anglo’s growth. “What catches the eye now is the hard-flooring options, like our marble effect laminate,” Haydar explains. “It’s a lot cheaper than putting marble in and it looks really nice.” The company also offers standard wood-effect laminate, as well as SPC products in a variety of finishes. “We’re trying to do a bit of everything, but we’re trying to do it the right way.

Anglo also took the show as an opportunity to launch a new carpet range, which went down particularly well with visitors. “We thought we’d get a good response but it’s been more than good,” says Haydar, “it’s been amazing.” The success of this new soft flooring option for the wholesaler clearly demonstrates the effectiveness of its multichannel strategy, however this is only one part of Anglo’s approach to market.

Another key is the company’s individualised customer service. Speaking about his independent retail customers, Haydar says: “We don’t treat our customers like a number, we try to know them all on a personal level. Not every product is for every customer. When you have that rapport with the customer, you make them feel like a part of the company.
