An integral part of Ulster Carpets

Wool remains an integral part of the Ulster Carpets story. The vast majority of the wool used in Ulster’s carpets come from British and Irish farms, with the company processing over 2.5 million kilos of wool (1.47 million fleeces) every year at Ulster Yarns – their own processing plant based in Yorkshire.

Andrew Gicquel, Retail Sales Manager, commented: “We find that British and Irish wool has superior durability to other wools, making our carpet hardwearing with excellent appearance retention properties and that all important bouncebackability that makes a wool-rich carpet stand out.

“As well as our popular 80/20 Axminster and Wilton carpets, there is a growing market for 100% wool carpets. We offer a range of different options in Axminster, Wilton and Tufted Loops and are looking forward to adding 10 new colours to our Open Spaces Auckland and Queenstown in the coming weeks.”
