FITA is an independent, not-for-profit organisation, providing specialist training for the floorcovering industry. Co-founded by the Contract Flooring Association and the National Institute of Carpet and Floorlayers, FITA has two specialist training centres; FITA Loughborough and FITA Scotland both fully equipped to deliver over 20 different flooring courses including carpet, LVT, sheet vinyl, wood, Linoleum and subfloor preparation.
FITA courses are carefully designed using continuous feedback from delegates and training consultants. Entry-level courses allow plenty of time for learning, ensuring delegates can practise new skills in a controlled environment where mistakes become part of the learning process. To bolster this commitment, FITA this year has launched the FITA Digital App- an innovative “fitter’s mate” designed exclusively for FITA course delegates and apprentices who have completed training.
The FITA Digital App is a unique, industry-first tool providing on-demand support to help delegates refresh skills and knowledge already covered during practical training. Designed with the flooring installer in mind, the app complements hands-on learning rather than replacing it, reinforcing confidence and competence as learners return to on-site installations post training.
The launch of this app marks a significant step forward in the organisation’s mission to blend traditional hands-on training with modern digital tools, supporting our delegates at every stage of their learning journey. It also clearly differentiates FITA from other training on the market, once again showing that FITA leads the way in the field of training in the sector. The organisation recognises that excellence in flooring is not just discovered in a training environment, it is also built, maintained, and refined through ongoing support and refreshment of key skills.
