F. Ball and Co.’s safety, health, environment and quality assurance (SHEQ) manager, Jenny Barnett, has been named chair of the British Adhesives & Sealants Association (BASA).
Jenny has been an active member of the BASA and working groups for more than 16 years, starting as a member of the Health and Safety working group, progressing to leading groups, including chairing Environment and Sustainability, before joining council and subsequently becoming vice-chair two years ago. Together with her colleagues on technical committees, she has been active in helping to drive the BASA technical programme and identifying how to best support its members.
Jenny’s stated priorities in her role are promoting sustainability and attracting more young people into the industry and BASA.
Commenting on her appointment, she said: “More than 16 years with BASA has provided me with immense opportunity for personal and professional growth and a deeper understanding of the broader industry. I started as a relatively inexperienced member many years ago, so progressing to the role of chair is a huge privilege and shows the support that BASA and its members provide.”
