Tapi massively grows profit in 2025 following Carpetright acquisitions

Tapi more than tripled its profits in 2025 compared to the previous year, posting profit after tax of £44.7m, as compared to 2024’s £13.6m. Likewise, the company’s turnover jumped from £227m in 2024 to £324m in 2025. The company points to its acquisition of the Carpetright brand and several stores as a key component of this explosive growth.

The company’s Chairman’s statement said: “2025 was a year of significant progress for Tapi. We welcomed more customers. grew revenue and strengthened our position in the UK flooring market. while continuing to deliver the high levels of service on which the business has been built.

Speaking specifically about the Carpetright acquisition, the statement continued: “We converted 36 former Carpetright stores to the Tapi brand and successfully launched our partnership with John Lewis, operating flooring concessions across 18 locations. Together, these initiatives have strengthened our national footprint, extended our reach to new customers and reinforced Tapi’s position as the UK’s leading specialist flooring retailer”

The Chairman also pointed out strategic reasons for the company’s growth, however: “A disciplined approach to cost control, alongside continued efforts to reduce waste and improve operational efficiency, contributed to a profit before tax of £60.7 million. This improvement reflects the strength of our business model, the disciplined execution of our strategy and the outstanding contribution of our colleagues. While market conditions remained difficult, our focus on delivering exceptional value, trusted service and operational discipline enabled us to continue taking market share. We also continued to invest in the long-term development of the business through our store estate, technology and customer proposition. The combination of strong profitability, a robust balance sheet and continued investment gives us confidence that Tapi is well positioned to continue gaining market share and creating long term value.”
