This year, Betap once again exhibited at Kortrijk Xpo as part of Flanders Flooring Days, using a large stand in the centre of the hall to showcase a wide range of new and updated ranges. One highlight was the newly expanded Yarn by Nature collection, the company’s 100% wool carpet range – which now features new quarter loop qualities in various popular neutral tones. The Graphics collection, a 10th gauge PP range, has also been extended with some new “subtle and playful” designs, according to the manufacturer.
Beyond those two expanded ranges, Betap is seeing increased popularity within its soft polyester and soft polypropylene offerings, suitable for customers who may not have the biggest budgets but still want to see added value in their carpets. For these customers, the company is introducing the Matlock and Northampton ranges. “Polyester is the right fibre to use,” the company told The Stocklists at the show. “In the yarns we developed, we have a nice shine but also a very good handle, and so the products are a really good balance of price and performance for our customers.”
As with many other exhibitors, Betap experienced a slower start to this year’s Flanders Flooring Days, however it quickly picked up from the second day onwards. “We have had lots of customers visit, with lots of good quality meetings. The people we want to talk to are here, so that’s positive,” the company said. Although footfall at Kortrijk Xpo seemed slightly lower this year, that resulted in more attention for individual customers, and higher quality conversations overall, Betap says.
