Royal recognition for flooring
Buckingham Palace has published the official list of those favoured in flooring as suppliers to the Royal Household by appointment to HM Prince Charles.
In most cases, the patronage rolls forward from that of the late Queen Elizabeth and there are ten companies listed in floorcoverings, Axminster Carpets, Brintons, Forbo and Ulster Carpets, along with contractors Forsyth Floorings Ltd, Linney Cooper Limited and Weldon Contracts (Hardwood); floor cleaning product supplier Prochem and protective film manufacturer Packexe. Victoria Carpets still holds a Royal Warrant granted by Queen Elizabeth in 2013.
A Royal Warrant of Appointment is a document that permits a company to use the Royal Arms in connection with its business in an appointed trading capacity. It is granted for up to five years at a time as a mark of recognition for the ongoing supply of goods or services to the Royal Household.
In 2024 HM The King and HM The Queen granted their first two sets of Royal Warrants of Appointment of the new reign. The grants were made as part of a review of all companies that held Royal Warrants at the time of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. More appointments are expected in 2025.
