Rolling out for Cormar

Cormar Carpets has proudly rolled out its new fleet for 2025, representing a significant investment in advanced, efficient, and safe logistics. 


This year’s fleet upgrade introduces twelve new DAF models, marking a transformative shift. The retiring vehicles, which have served Cormar reliably for up to seven years, have collectively travelled an incredible 7.5 million kilometres — that’s nearly 200 trips around the Earth!


The newly designed, more environmentally friendly, vehicles are optimised to reduce air drag, directing wind around, through, and under the body. Combined with EURO6 engines, this design enhances fuel efficiency, reduces emissions, and lowers running noise. These upgrades align with Cormar’s commitment to sustainability and
operational excellence.


Safety has also taken centre stage in this fleet upgrade. The new vehicles are equipped with cutting-edge road safety features tailored for urban distribution. Additionally, Cormar has invested in Progressive Safe Systems, Moving Off Information Systems,
and 360° CCTV technology. These features not only meet but exceed Transport for London’s new safety requirements for HGVs
operating within Greater London, protecting vulnerable road users and ensuring accident prevention. 


In addition to the new vehicles, Cormar Carpets has introduced eight brand-new trailers. The trailers feature easy-access barn doors at both ends and secure internal cages for improved handling and safety. After 17 years of loyal service, the previous trailers have been retired to make way for this modern, efficient design.


This fleet upgrade signals the end of an era as the company’s previous branding, first introduced in 1990, is retired. Cormar’s latest branding is now proudly displayed across the entire fleet, which serves customers across the UK and Ireland. Cormar Carpets continues to lead the way ensuring the highest standards of service for their customers. This new fleet reinforces Cormar’s dedication to operational excellence as they drive into a promising 2025.

Industry body unveils “Plan for Growth” to Government

The British Furniture Confederation (BFC), the public affairs umbrella body of furniture and beds, furnishings and flooring sector trade associations, has unveiled its new Plan for Growth. The document is said to support BFC’s advocacy across four key pillars: skills and education; trade and exports; standards and regulations; and the environment and circular economy. It has been developed over the past few months, the organisation says, evolving from a combination of position papers written by the associations’ executives and a comprehensive survey of their collective members.

Furniture spend up 2.4% with Barclaycard
