The death has been reported of Peter Lynas, a well-known and highly respected figure in the flooring industry for many years. He died on September 21 surrounded by his family.
• There will be a funeral mass at St Marys Church, Cadzow Street, Hamilton, ML3 6HP at 10:00am on Tuesday 10th October.
He will be laid to rest afterwards at Bent Cemetery, Hamilton, and there will be a reception at Hamilton Golf Club.

Peter joined the buying group Metro in 1985 and spent many years as a Board member supporting independent retailers within the group.
He also spent many years working as part of the Carpet Foundation, working on behalf of independent retailers again.
" I have had the great fortune and pleasure to spend much time with him during my eleven years at Metro," said Steve Depport of Metro Group. "He was always very welcoming and friendly."
Peter was owner of the 200-year-old family business of Lynas
Carpets in Hamilton, Scotland.
