New National Flooring Show open to all

A new INDX National Flooring Show open to all retailers is scheduled for April next year in Solihull, West Midlands.


The two-day event on April 30 and May 1 replaces the popular Buying Groups National Flooring Show (BGNFS) at the same Cranmore Park venue and visitors will not need to be a member of any group to attend.


However, all the key buying groups continue to partner with the event - ACG, AIS Flooring One, Bond Retail Marketing, Carpet 1st, Greendale and SMG.


Cranmore Park is already home to several INDX events for Furniture, Homewares, and Beds & Bedroom organised by the Associated Indendent Stores (AIS) organisation of which Flooring One is also part.


Jane Bartlett, Event Director at AIS commented: "“The Buying Groups National Flooring Show has always been a busy, buzzy, and well-attended event and we look forward to working with our partner buying groups to build on that success.

“INDX Shows are well-established, well-respected and highly successful, and as business and buyer focused events, they have always had a direct synergy with the Buying Groups National Flooring Shows, so it makes total sense to bring the two together," she said.


“The INDX National Flooring Show 2024 will be an unmissable opportunity for flooring retailers to see the best the industry has to offer, all under one roof, and we also have some exciting plans to make the show extra special,” added Jane.

Industry body unveils “Plan for Growth” to Government

The British Furniture Confederation (BFC), the public affairs umbrella body of furniture and beds, furnishings and flooring sector trade associations, has unveiled its new Plan for Growth. The document is said to support BFC’s advocacy across four key pillars: skills and education; trade and exports; standards and regulations; and the environment and circular economy. It has been developed over the past few months, the organisation says, evolving from a combination of position papers written by the associations’ executives and a comprehensive survey of their collective members.

Furniture spend up 2.4% with Barclaycard
