IDS faces uncertain future
Up-market smooth flooring supplier International Decorative Surfaces (IDS) is facing an uncertain future after posting a notice of intention to appoint administrators.
IDS is well-known as a leading stocklist of laminate and LVT flooring as well as supplying interior wall panelling, worktops and decking with a turnover of c. £80m.
It prides itself on market-leading laminate brands like Quick-Step, BerryAlloc, Xtra Step, Swiss Krono and Faus and LVT collections such as Malmo, BerryAlloc, LiViT and Kahrs.
The company completed a management buyout in 2022 from Saint-Gobain after more than 20 years as part of the giant French conglomerate. Managing director John Bagshaw said they were “looking forward to a bright and dynamic future.”
The Newcastle-based company employs
over 500 staff across 10 branches nationwide.
