National chain Flooring Superstore has plans to open 20 new stores in 2022 to increase its outlets to 60, following the most successful year in its history.
Flooring Superstore opened 17 new stores across the UK in 2021, despite non-essential retail not being permitted to re-open until April as a result of the lockdowns. This represented an investment of more than £2 million.
The business, which also trades as Direct Wood Flooring, started as an e-commerce operation in 2012 but opened its first bricks and mortar store in 2017. It has said, pre-Covid, that it has ambitions to open 100 stores UK-wide.
Dan Foskett, founder and chief executive, said: "Despite everything which has been thrown at the retail sector over the last few years, we have managed to continue with our store growth programme, as well as further strengthening our online presence.
"We now have coverage across the whole of the UK, but this will increase even further in 2022 as we open more stores."
Besides Mr Foskett, Flooring Superstore is backed by a consortium of entrepreneurs including Jason Maguire of Frank's The Flooring Store, Glen Toomes of Heatseam and Richard Harpin of HomeServe.
Flooring Superstore has also re-stated its committed to sustainability through our corporate social responsibility programme and schemes which include planting a tree for every in-store order.
