The Profilpas floor series, by Mapei, provides a complete finishing solution for floors, including wood and laminate designs. Wide and diverse, the range includes professional, customisable and bespoke profiles and skirting boards in a variety of anodised aluminium finishes and exclusive Alcrom Plus decors. Each provides a seamless and complementary finish, whilst also offering protection for the wood or laminate surface.
Designs from the Profilpas range include junction profiles for same level floors, transition profiles to accommodate differing floor levels, perimeter profiles, stair nosing and skirting boards. For a flawless blend or contrast, anodised aluminium finishes include silver, gold and sand gold, titanium, platinum and two shades of dark brown.
For a seamless finish, Profilpas Digital System (PDS) allows reproduction of any laminate design onto Alcrom Plus film, allowing profiles and skirting boards to be perfectly matched to the floor. In addition to 400 standard decors - including wood-effects, as well as stone and cement-effect decors – PDS customised designs can be reproduced from any sample. The bespoke service spans in-house scanning, printing and film application.

Kensington Trims, part of Sweeney Todd Blades, produces what it describes as premium brand profiles. Now, the company has launched a point-of-sale display that will reportedly enhance flooring showrooms as well as add an additional profit stream to your business. Any company with an order of 25 bars @ 900mm will be sent a free display stand.
To give installations what the company describes as ‘the perfect finish’ in new or old properties, Kensington Trims also recently launched its premium Antique Finish (Brushed Gold) range, which is available in various profiles.
Recent years have seen a significant shift in end-user customers’ expectations with respect to the overall finished look of their flooring scheme. For instance, many customers request floor furniture to match doorhandles and light switches to enhance the overall look and feel of a room.
Kensington has reportedly facilitated these requests by developing a collection of what it describes as the most popular door-bar sections.
These are available in sizes between 900-2,700mm with a wider range of six premium finishes to select from. In addition, the display unit allows customers to easily choose and compare the different finishes, says the company.
