Domotex shelves Autumn plan and announces for 2023

Domotex, the world's largest flooring trade show, has announced dates for its Hannover event next January, giving up on a plan to stage a limited exhibition later this year.
After losing two shows to the pandemic, the Domotex organisers at Deutsche Messe had floated the idea of a "compact" September event in 2022 to keep in touch with the industry but the plan has been abandoned.
The next event will take place 12 to 15 January 2023.
"After intensive discussions with exhibiting companies, unfortunately a majority couldn’t be found for a late summer edition of DOMOTEX in September 2022," said Sonia Wedell-Castellano, Global Director DOMOTEX. "The preferred option of the entire market is to keep the usual date right at the beginning of the year."
"With the new date of DOMOTEX in January 2023, we want to give the players in the carpet and floor coverings industry the greatest possible long-term planning security. We want to give our customers the opportunity to finally meet in person again, to be inspired and to forge new business relationships," she said.
Domotoex typically attracts 35,000 visitors and the 1,400 exhibitors represent more than 60 natiots.

The British Furniture Confederation (BFC), the public affairs umbrella body of furniture and beds, furnishings and flooring sector trade associations, has unveiled its new Plan for Growth. The document is said to support BFC’s advocacy across four key pillars: skills and education; trade and exports; standards and regulations; and the environment and circular economy. It has been developed over the past few months, the organisation says, evolving from a combination of position papers written by the associations’ executives and a comprehensive survey of their collective members.
Consumer card spending grew 1.0% year-on-year in February – lower than January’s 1.9% increase and less than the latest CPIH inflation rate of 3.9%, according to recent figures reported by Barclays. In anticipation of higher bills, consumers are said to be cutting back on essential outgoings, but still prioritising discretionary purchases, contributing to an uptick in optimism in the health of personal and household finances.
