Domotex makes a comeback
After having to cancel Domotex two years in a row due to the pandemic, the Hannover event proved once again that it remains one of the world's most important trade shows for flooring, albeit with a significantly reduced attendance.
Domotex closed on Sunday, January 15, having seen 20,000 visitors visit over 700 exhibitors in the eight halls of Hannover.
"We are overwhelmed by the positive response as well as the energetic spirit of this year's Domotex," said Sonia Wedell-Castellano, Global Director. "The atmosphere in the halls was super – exhibitors and visitors were delighted to finally come together again at their industry trade show to meet face-to-face, exchange ideas, make new contacts and close deals."
Organisers said they were "pleasantly suprised" by the attendance figures after the extreme challenges to the event, although the statistics are well down pre-pandemic results which used to see attendance in excess of 35,000 and double the number exhibitors.
"What pleases me is that the quality of visitors at the show is outstanding," said Ms Wedell-Castellano. "After all, the decision-maker share is 80%. Those who come to Domotex come with very specific intentions."
Sustainability was a common thread running throughout the exhibition halls with the guiding theme of "Floored by Nature" and the special "Green Collection" presentation which formed the heart of the event.
