Carpet success for Frankfurt show
Frankfurt's top textile show has sold out its new carpet and rugs hall for the event that opens on January 9, raising the profile of flooring at this prestigious event.
Heimtextil is Europe's leading event for home furnishing textiles and has always featured flooring but earlier this year the organisers at Messe Frankfurt decided to dedicate Hall 5.1 to carpets and rugs and have reported strong demand.
More than100 carpet and rug companies have booked space. “It was crucial for us right from the start to showcase the diverse range within the fitted carpet segment and to attain a well-balanced mix of products,” said Heimtextil director Bettina Bär. “We’re delighted that we’ve managed to accomplish this so effectively from the beginning.”
More than 2,600 manufacturers and brands will assemble in Frankfurt to provide a comprehensive market overview of the global trends in the home and contract textiles industry at Heimtextil from January 9-12.
The timing of the push into more flooring coincides with changes in format at Domotex, the world's biggest flooring show, which opens in Hannover just two days later than Heimtextil and claims more than 1,000 exhibitors for textile and smooth flooring for the event from January 11-14.
